Leak Detection in Valves and Pipes
VPAC™II – THROUGH-VALVE LOSS CONTROL INSTRUMENTThe VPAC™II is an acoustic emission instrument based on over 10 years of research. The VPAC™II can estimate the quantity of material leaking through the valve using the accompanying proprietary software. With hundreds of systems currently in use, the VPAC™II is the instrument of choice for through valve leak detection. The user interface is simple and intuitive, and the unit retains all settings even when powered down. The instrument is powered by four rechargeable AA batteries which will last several weeks in typical use. Battery replacement and charging is quick and easy, so downtime is minimized. Features of the VPAC™II include:
When used on gas systems, the VPAC™II system is capable of detecting leaks as small as 1-liter per minute. This is because the sensor is virtually on top of the leak source and attenuation of the signal is not a factor. Counting for standard pressure and temperature (14.696 psia and 60° F), this corresponds to 2.12 SCF per hour.
VALVE SQUEAK – HAND-HELD THROUGH-VALVE LOSS DETECTION SYSTEMDesigned for operations and maintenance personnel to perform frequent valve checks, Valve-Squeak is an easy-to-use, pocket-sized through-valve loss detection system. The system isolates leaks of any size and in any valve saving you thousands, if not millions of dollars by indicating no leak with a green light or yellow LED bar graph showing a range of small to very large. Once a leak is detected, a VPACII or VPAC can be used to quantify. The high value of Valve-Squeak means its possible to have many units in a facility to help a single VPACII operator maximize time and resources by quickly identifying and targeting leaking valves for further inspection. |
